The Juvenile Assessment Center offers its services to law enforcement agencies within the 18th Judicial District. Youth may be transported by a law enforcement agency outside of the 18th Judicial District if a youth resides or has a warrant issued from a court in the 18th Judicial District. If a juvenile is contacted by a Law Enforcement Officer, irrespective of charge status, and that youth may benefit from the services of the Juvenile Assessment Center, that Law Enforcement Officer may transport that youth to the facility to begin the assessment process. Depending on the reason the juvenile was transported to the program, they will either be released to a parent or legal guardian or detained at the detention center.
If you are a law enforcement officer and have questions about transporting a youth, please contact your dispatch for the law enforcement officer pager number to reach a Intake Specialist.
