Assessment Specialist
Assessment Specialists are responsible for performing the intake process, the Colorado Juvenile Risk Assessment, compiling service recommendations, and releasing the youth from the JAC. They may facilitate a conversation with the youth and their family to gather concerns, discuss service recommendations, and conduct a follow-up to the initial assessment. There are times when they will be called upon for Crisis Intervention and mediation services between youth and families. The Assessment Specialist will also complete detailed written reports on needs assessments and case management activities. A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with a preferred degree in social work, psychology, sociology, public administration or closely related field is required. Knowledge of the youth service field and experience with at-risk youth is preferred.

Mobile Assessment Specialist
Completes the duties of the Assessment Specialist at the JAC and part-time in a specified target area. At this time the Mobile Assessment Specialist is working in the City of Aurora as part of Aurora’s Gang Reduction Impact Program (A-GRIP). Team Leads
Team Leads make up the supervisory staff at the JAC. They are responsible for overseeing the Assessment Specialists and Co-located staff, coordinating the daily workflow, addressing performance concerns, and serving as the first point of contact for all issues arising in regards to the program. They will perform the duties of the Assessment Specialist as needed. A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with a preferred degree in social work, psychology, sociology, public administration or closely related field is required. Experience and knowledge of supervisory and training techniques is preferred.
